This is a comfortable, lightly supportive shaper/tank top. I ordered it for my teen-aged granddaughter in beige. She usually wears a size 18 and according to the size charts, her measurements should correspond to a 2XL in this brand. I did order one size up, as so many shape wear garments seem to run small. This turned out to be unnecessary in this case and she would have been able to wear the 2XL as well. However, she is happy enough with the fit of the 3XL -- it has good length, which is important as my granddaughter is fairly tall. She finds this comfortable to wear and it offers very mild compression for the mid-section. There is so little spandex in the fabric, that I don't think going down a size would really matter much (the fabric content is 96% nylon/4% spandex). The fabric is lightly ribbed with wider ribs on the sides. The bodice is ruched, and the ruching doesn't show through most tops. My granddaughter likes that she can wear this with or without her regular bra, and she can also take the bra pads out if she wants to. It is lightly supportive when worn as a built-in bra, but it does work out much better than several other tanks she has that have the shelf-type bra. This will be great for weekends when she wants to wear very casual clothing doesn't want to bother with a bra. I can't really imagine wearing this on hot summer days, as it isn't very breathable. With the wide straps and high back it might be hard to conceal this under summer tops. The tank seems to be well made and the current price of $16.99 seems reasonable.
