Review on Optimized Industrial Electrical Type C Double Braided Nylon Cable by AmazonBasics by Josh Allen

I bought this cable because more of my devices use USB Type-C ports. This doesn't mean that they support 3.1, 3.1 Gen2, etc. etc., but that the manufacturers are standardizing a new connector to replace the microUSB connector. The problem is that the cables that come with it offer a number of choices. For example, a pair of my headphones have a USB Type-C connector for a USB 2.0 connection. The supplied cable is a USB 2.0 AC cable. It started to get out of control, instead labeling each cable with features or lack thereof. I've decided to replace all my USB Type-C cables with the latest 3.1 Gen2 cables. Since the USB specification is generally backward compatible, this is both a perspective and a simplification. I have tried Revain Basics cables in the past and they have generally performed well and were significantly less expensive than competing 3.1 Gen2 cables. so I bought one to test. This cable is exactly as advertised. USB 3.1 Gen2 AC cable. Since 3.1 Gen2 is relatively new, I can't fully test it. but every test I've been able to run has shown that the cable works as expected. What I didn't expect was the thickness/stiffness of the cable. I'm sure it's just an issue for the first user and later cables will be more flexible, but for now. The cable is quite rigid, difficult to coil/carry. Keep this in mind if you want to store it in a small space. Overall I'm happy as the stiffness wasn't an issue for me. Update (April 10, 2020: I've tested several other brands of 3.1 Gen2 A for C cables and they're all pretty inflexible. This is probably due to the thicker screen needed to support the full 10Gb/s. As this seems to be typical of all 3.1 Gen2 cables I am ALSO increasing it from 4 stars to 5. I have now had the opportunity to test this on a setup where both devices support Gen 2. I am pleased to Nearly 10Gbps connectivity to test and have since bought a few more of these.
