I have been using routers and switches for 25 years. D-Link has always had good prices, easy-to-use interfaces, extremely reliable hardware, and good online support (I've been on their Compuserve forum since before the internet. Yes, I'm a network OG!). A good Wi-Fi web browsing solution for home users, this N300 also features a wired gigabit backbone to meet the high wired data transmission demands for Netflix HD and console gaming on multiple devices simultaneously. Sure, you can spend $200 on a "gaming router" that fools itself into believing its Wi-Fi capabilities (mostly marketing hype) must be fast enough to play and watch Netflix. sure good luck with that. I use a wired connection for everything I can because I understand how slow Wi-Fi really is, no matter what version you're using or how many channels are available. Nothing beats the low cost and high performance of Gigabit Ethernet over CAT6 cable with a modern DOCSIS 3.0+ cable modem. I was able to set up this router for my home in about 15 minutes using the built-in quick setup interface.
