Well it's a cable right, just plug in both ends and you're good to go. A lot of people in the IT industry have told me that I don't need the Category 7 for home use and that the cheaper Category 5 would be just as good. When I replaced my old Cat5 cables with these, I ran a speed test and the PC download speed increased by 400 percent and the upload speed roughly doubled. Efficiency wasn't as great on the Mac, but download and upload speeds increased by about 50 percent. I don't know the theory and I'm sure not all users will experience this increase in performance. However, I am a happy backpacker and would recommend these cables.
