These are good SATA hard drives for older computers. A lot of people might just choose the drives that are sold at retail, but I think these AV drives (and old corporate drives) have something to offer compared to some of the newest hard drives. They seem heavier/stronger than some drives I've had and the one I'm using doesn't experience vibration. AV drives have an option called "Standby Power On" that can be enabled by placing a jumper on specific pins on the drive. From what I've seen they work like a standard hard drive without jumpers.
