The price made it a good deal but my drive freezes during use which sometimes causes my system to freeze. it's just 3-5 seconds a few times a day. I also had to reinstall Windows after it had been installed for about 20 minutes because the drive somehow lost a file shortly after. It could just be something with my drive but it's not a big deal for me to return it to the seller or WD as the time it takes isn't worth the tradeoff due to the small performance issues I'm having.

When I first received this hard drive I was not impressed with the delivery. However, after posting my first detailed review, the seller called me and offered to replace my hard drive. I used this disc as a replacement in my DirecTivo. 10 p. The process was quite difficult because I was copying everything from an old drive and had to buy an IDE/SATA adapter from WeaKnees, but the drive itself was great (and very quiet and cool). I now have room for 450 hours of SD programming. All of my recorded shows, passes, setups and wish lists went well.

These are good SATA hard drives for older computers. A lot of people might just choose the drives that are sold at retail, but I think these AV drives (and old corporate drives) have something to offer compared to some of the newest hard drives. They seem heavier/stronger than some drives I've had and the one I'm using doesn't experience vibration. I can't believe I spent money on 9 year old "new" hard drives. So far they work, but it was necessary to point out in the description that these are very old stocks.

Bought two hard drives on May 1st 2017. One of them was used in a CCTV DVR but after a few weeks the DVR stuck on the loading screen hang. I tried the same hard drive on another DVR and a day later the DVR got stuck on the boot screen too. Both DVRs worked great with other hard drives from the last year. I believe the hard drive is bad and I won't even try to use a different one for fear it will damage the other dash cam. Now I have two spare DVRs.

Cannot recommend this product. First of five installed and used as boot drive for Win7. In just a few days, the computer was working so hard that the slow drive had to be replaced. Checkdsk found bad sectors.
