Review on Salomon SENSE Stormy Weather Ebony Men's Shoes by John Langdon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The arch was high which made the shoes uncomfortable for my feet

Good trail running shoe for the price. Excellent grip on all surfaces from rocks to gravel and mud. I'm confident in moving fast. Convenient and on the go if necessary. Obviously they are not waterproof and in wetter conditions like the mountains of Ireland you will have wet feet as soon as you hit the first bit of moisture or mud. Drainage is ok, but not great. Longer runs over hard terrain with large rocks or boulders can get a bit uncomfortable as there isn't enough cushioning for that. However, these shoes are not built for this type of terrain as they are marketed as road cycling shoes. However, they remain excellent on less difficult trails. Having run 300 km in them in the last three months, I can say that I love them for the fact that stretch marks on the road do not bother you, you do not want to walk in sneakers, on the other hand on the track you feel light, responsive and soft enough to withstand longer rides.

Pros
  • One of the best I've ever had. I use this shoe for trail running, cricket and hiking. Comfortable and breathable.
Cons
  • There is not enough cushioning in the shoe, which leads to foot fatigue over long distances.
