Deciding whether these things really work. Some people swear by it, other reviews show no difference using laser thermometers checking different areas in the engine bay with and without the ceiling. So I think at least it looks good and is a good finishing touch. And as others have mentioned, it smells when it's new. Newly renovated and I was driving last night and felt something was wrong, panicked for a moment (brand new engine) but then I remembered people mentioning these things give off an odor when new.
