In the interest of energy efficiency I switched to LED bulbs because I figured the house would eventually and really have no complaints about these pears. It's just that with a pair of reading lights that are actually used as reading lights, I wanted to take extra care to get the best possible reading light. I have had one of the early/original OttLite table lamps for years and love the light it gives off. So when I saw this brand on CFLs I knew it was exactly what I wanted for their reading lamps and I wasn't disappointed. a hit!
