Review on πŸ”Œ Belkin Thunderbolt Cable – Feet to Meters Conversion by Brian Avila

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Attention compatibility!

I'm sure this is a decent product based on all the other reviews but I would caution potential buyers to be aware of the compatibility issues with this product. Not all 4k monitors use the Thunderbolt 3 standard (and 40Gbps speed) and may only be compatible with USB3.1 and DP Alt 10Gbps capabilities. This cable does not state that it supports USB 3.1/10Gb/s. So when I connected it to my monitor with a 16" MacBook Pro and it didn't work, I found that the monitor is only compatible with USB 3.1/10 10Gb/s and not Thunderbolt 3. You would think that TB 3 would run with lower quality USB 3.1/10Gb/s, but it won't unless the cable specs clearly state so. either), so I'm assuming it's not designed for USB 3.1 etc and will only work as a charging cable, USB 2.0 cable, and Thunderbolt 3 cable. After a cursory inspection, the only cable I have is too see that literally "everything can" (10/20/40Gb/s, TB 3, USB 3.1, etc.) are the 0.8m offered straight from the Mac. Others that don't have the 40Gb /s function works fine However, if you don't care about using the 5k functionality. If this information is incorrect, maybe someone can enlighten me a little further.
