You must BUY text or phone notifications.

The sensor feels accurate and responsive and the app connects easily. Unfortunately, the fixed rate of the thermometer itself does NOT allow you to remotely control temperature/humidity. You have to pay a monthly fee for this. It's not worth it. If you want something you can only test at home, just buy a regular $5 thermometer.
