Sturdy, well-made, paper-wrapped Hanafuda postcards. If you're used to the standard Hanafuda art set, it will take you some time to get used to it, as many of the cards bear little resemblance at first glance. However, the clues are there and the art is actually pretty neat. I don't know how they were made, but it looks like the images are written in ink, with shiny silver and gold detailing, which is then stamped. They look like tiny woodcuts and are very distinctive. The wooden box halves fit together well and are a much nicer alternative to the flimsy plastic holders that are often included with other decks. stripped down version of the game and adding more complex rules once they get familiar with the basic structure.
