Review on πŸ’‘ Secure and Portable Storage for SD Memory Cards: Introducing the Pelican 0915 Memory Card Case in Black by Tyler Kota

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty durable and meets our needs.

We used to store our SDs in the zip along with all the plastic sleeves - it was a mess. The outer case is made from fairly hard plastic - more like the US and not overseas. The same goes for the foam inside the case, it's thick and dense rather than open cell foam so the chips fit snugly and won't fall out even if you open it up and turn it upside down. If we are traveling abroad or in harsh environments I would opt for an aluminum or titanium body, but this body will be kept in our camera bag. It is strong enough that the chips cannot damage our lenses and camera body. Although I won't test it, the case's rubber gasket looks pretty good and is in the right position so it doesn't compress unevenly. This should definitely stop spatter and sand getting in, but not sure if it's actually submerged other than a quick accidental drop into the water and a quick scoop. No longer safe. I wish it had a metal clip instead of a plastic clip but. the plastic locking clip is quite thick so should last a very long time for everyday use. Finally, we liked how our 128GB mini SD chips fit snugly under the SD card - you can essentially fit an SD with a 128GB minichip in the SD card and another 128GB minichip have underneath. That means you can have 2 mini chips per SD. Note that I'm not denying that the security features are only 4 stars - there simply isn't a lock or anything, so you'd be asking for that rating, so don't look down on that case for security reasons. Not sure where it's from, but it has a good feel of hard military quality.
