It's very hard to find something you like

I received it about 2 days ago with the intention of using it for hiking. To say I'm not impressed would be an understatement. The only good thing I can say about it (and that's just a superficial observation) is that the battery life seems decent and the GPS signal is relatively strong. Let's get to the bad. The most obvious problem I've found is that the addresses don't work. First it will ask you to enter a state or province which it will never find and you can't go any further (screenshot attached for reference). This is important because it's impossible to find locations outside of your immediate area. I contacted support regarding this and they seem unfamiliar with this device and had to call their internal support (looks like their wfh customer service). Also, the UI is a bit confusing, I often find the joystick doing things I didn't intend. I don't see any viable way to plan a trip from the device itself without manually entering coordinates or using the incredibly awful Garmin Basecamp app. A manual for this device is also painfully missing.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • It's ok
