This is not just a review of a laptop, it's an HP review After only running this laptop for a month and a half, the display stopped working. All I could see was a completely black screen. I called HP because the product was still under warranty. We passed a series of tests on the device over the phone. The representative stated that what went wrong is a common problem with this laptop. The service order is thus created. I was told they would have the laptop ready for repair within 3-4 business days and would then ship it back to me. It's been four days to a month since my laptop was with them and I just received an email. stating that it was "accidental damage" which was considered "damage caused by the buyer". The letter states that the repair cost will be $625.67. I contacted HP again and complained as the laptop was undamaged when shipped. I was asked if I had photos to back up this claim, which of course I don't have. I asked why if there is damage to the unit it wasn't noted when the laptop was received. I had to fill out a form when I sent them the laptop describing the problem and whether the unit was damaged. I thought they would check the laptop upon receipt. Now almost a month later, without any communication from HP during this time, they tell me that there is a "customer-caused damage". It was four days ago. I've been trying to reach this representative every day since then, but to no avail. I have left messages every time but there is NO reply from him. HP still has my laptop and it's already four days past the return period. Luckily I bought the Asurion Protection Plan. But I still can't contact HP to return my laptop. 2021 - I finally got my laptop back and sent it straight to Asurion. It was two weeks ago. Asurion has ordered parts, but it appears the device is not yet repairable. So, after all this time thinking the laptop would be repaired, now I have to look around for a new one.
