Very strong, ideal for one-size drinks. It breaks ice very well, but care must be taken, as with any blender, that pieces can get stuck. I've found that the power of this blender sometimes loosens the lid, so I just take it off during the process and make sure it's still tightly closed. This also works for shaking ice or frozen pieces of fruit. The accompanying booklet says not to let it run for long, more than 1 minute I think, but the whole process only takes a few minutes anyway. What I definitely like is that the copper color looks classy and beautiful in my kitchen. So it's not a "set and forget" job, but seriously, it's just a mixer. So 5 stars for performance and style at this price.
