There were problems from the start. The lack of instructions made it difficult to assemble a piece. After assembly, the fan remains on the base at any height. It only slides to the lowest level. I wrote Lasko about it and he was told to wipe the brace down with alcohol and the slippage would stop. It did not work. However, I left the fan because I needed it. Unlike my last fan on a pedestal, this one doesn't have a handle or way to lift it. I lifted it to move my face in a different direction and into a new space. The plastic blades hit something with a crash and stopped. I could see that the fan assembly was now loosened to open the cage when I reassembled it and re-tightened all the fan assembly parts. In vain, the fan is dead now!
