There is nothing special about this SSD. Just your average budget is 120GB SSD. I bought mine on Black Friday for $49. Now I know there are reviews that talk about reliability issues with this drive, but mine has lasted 3 months so far, so it wasn't a fluke. Packaging is simple and includes the PNY Optima SSD itself in an anti-static bag. A pad for laptops or other devices that require a 9.5mm drive (the drive is 7mm thick, so if your laptop uses this type of drive you should be fine) and the accompanying documents. The drive is very fast in normal operation. Windows 7 boot times are very quick and the OS isn't stuttering, things like searches are fast, and file transfers, whether to my other SSD or even to plain old spinning drives, are much faster. So it's a budget drive, nothing special, but that "nothing" is very desirable if you haven't already upgraded from a regular old hard drive
