When I bought it I thought it was perfect. I didn't pay much attention to what it was made of. Everything went smoothly and my hamster was happy, but then he got ripped. He started chewing it. He has blocks of wood, but he gave them up for something in .WOOD. I had to tape 2 boards back from him because he chewed it so hard it fell apart. Now I buy another wheel because it falls apart every day. He's just a little Syrian hamster, but the damage he's done to this wheel is incredible. In conclusion, I would like to say that not a single hamster wheel should be made of wood. What were the manufacturers thinking?
