Review on Efficient SCA-302 180 Gallon Protein Skimmer: Upgrade Your Sump with the Newest Version by SC Aquariums by Christina Ochoa

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Happy to verify the information after several hours of research!

I was hesitant to buy a skimmer under $200. This was set up within a few days and started slipping an hour after it was connected. The bubbles are very small and the skimmer creates a wall of white, frothy microbubbles all over the skimmer. My original plans were to buy a Reef Octopus or something similar. After several hours of research. I can say that I bought the right skimmer for me. My tank is 125 liters with a 55 gallon sump. This skimmer requires approximately 11 inches of clearance to fit between your pallet baffles. This skimmer is QUIET! It comes with a muffler for the air intake but I didn't install it and in my opinion it's not needed. Modified the skimmer for better performance. Many people have their knees attached to the pump to maximize the bubbles contact time with the water, thus removing the skimmat and toxic waste. I also planned to make this mod, after inspecting the skimmer of the box I see that the SCA has already adopted this practice. I hope the review helps you make a decision. Thank you SKA!
