Revainrating 4 out of 5

Less than 2 months later the mini HMDI port stopped working - update

Updated 01/2022. Support contacted me because of my negative review and they were genuinely concerned that I had had a negative experience. I received a replacement device warranty and this one works perfectly. It appears to be the exact same design BUT hopefully the internals are better done. Advanced verification based on customer service only. Original Rating: Overall I am very happy with this portable monitor. I want the USB-C display port to be a Thunderbolt port so it can charge the display when I use that port so I don't have to connect two cables, the built in battery usually provides enough power for me to get it through this port. working day mobile. FOR THE BAD PART. The MINI HDMI connector has connection problems when the cable is in the ideal position for it to work. Any movement of the monitor or laptop or even the table will result in disconnection or complete disappearance of the connection. I've tried SEVERAL HDMI cables and adapters and they all do the same thing, so it's a connection issue, not a cable issue. For a $300 standalone monitor, I was very upset that this happened. My office PC doesn't support USB-C for video transmission (older laptop), so I have to use HDMI. One of the main reasons for buying this monitor. I couldn't find a way to contact support either, and Revain didn't offer much help in that regard either. The included case/stand could do some work. It's an impressive design, to be honest, but it doesn't offer full functionality. Somewhat concerning, the $300 monitor is held in place by magnets. More positives. Battery life is pretty good, typically a full day without 50% brightness. Overall picture quality is good for office work and occasional video. screen-to-frame ratio. If it weren't for the issue with the mini HDMI port I would probably rate it 4-5 stars. But for such expensive electronics I am disappointed with the product to say the least.
