Installation was quick, if a little cumbersome. So I used a rubber mallet to assemble the footboard. A simple set screw then holds it in place. Black is the only color. If you have a chrome footpeg you can have it silver or chrome plated prior to installation or it will look like a black hockey puck on your bike! LOL I can say that it works well on tarmac and grass but nothing will help keep your Goldwing on muddy ground except a larger cushion like a piece of plywood but who wants to carry something like that around. The biggest benefit of this pad is that once installed, you just "set and forget” as the TV advert says! My stand is black so it looks good with it. In fact, no one notices!
