Update: My biggest complaint about this carrycot is the lining. It's too thin to put a sheet on it, so you'll have to wash the entire pad if a kid gets it dirty. Also, it doesn't seem to hold up to washing. The fabric is not sewn but hot pressed so it started to rise after the first wash. After 3-4 washes there are practically no more shreds. The pad is attached to the bottom of the cradle with Velcro, and when my son started grabbing things, the tin pad crumpled slightly under him and gnawed. The padding around the edges is fabric but not removable so good luck cleaning it if it gets dirty. I have no idea how, but someone at my house smeared some black grease on it and I'm pretty sure it's ruined now. Despite all that, it's still my favorite of the three cradles we've had. The pumping motion is priceless. My son is used to being rocked and I tried the vibrating cradle thinking it would put him to sleep like a machine but he hated it. None of this rocks to get him to sleep without killing his hands. Original review: My husband usually gives up when assembling furniture. Usually this is my homework. He hates reading instructions. He actually assembled it himself while I slept. I usually LOVE to assemble furniture, but as a new mom who had a c-section I just didn't feel like it. The rocking movement is so gentle that after a slight push the carrycot will continue to rock by itself for a while. You must have it on a level floor for the best results. A small part of the leg was resting on the carpet in our living room and this stopped the rocking much sooner than if it was on a hard floor. The device makes a robust and very attractive impression. As the pillow has indentations at the top and bottom, I would have liked it to come with a sheet. I don't like washing and drying the carpet every time it gets dirty. My baby sleeps in it. He is often given milk, drool and diapers. The pillow is quite thin but I plan on putting a stretchy sheet on it, but I wish it either had a thicker mattress that I could easily place the sheet on, or it had removable, washable covers. ). I also wish it was just a notch or two below attitude. I have a platform bed and the lowest set is quite high above it so it's not very comfortable for late night feedings. My mother in law and I are both about 1.50m tall and have a little trouble bending over into the cradle to put the baby down. She lost her balance and bent forward a few times. If you're small like us, a "brake" is a must. Make sure you block the swing before leaning into the carrycot to lay your baby down. It's a small thing, but it's also hard for us little ones to bend over and kiss a baby while he's sleeping. As a first time mom, I can't stop kissing his little face and I get sad when I can't reach him. Even my 5ft 8in dad can barely bend down to kiss him in the bassinet. (Of course he has a small tummy.) The bassinet is very attractive and I have no problem keeping it in my living room. I haven't really used the basket lift feature, but I tried it just for fun and it's a very smooth feature. You can easily pick it up while your baby sleeps inside. I hope this information was helpful.
