All I can say is that I have used all types of rug/rug cleaners and machines and this is the first one I have used and it works. After that, I literally buried my nose in the carpet and didn't smell any urine or other unpleasant odors. My technique: 1. Soak up urine with a paper towel or collect feces2. Wet the area completely with the spray, then scrub a little with the brush3. Wait about 10-20 minutes (don't forget to mark the area so you don't forget where it is)4. Use a carpet vacuum (also known as a wet carpet vacuum) and gently vacuum (I use the SpotBot Pet). The only thing left is the sweet orange scent that comes from the essential oil in the product. Stick your nose in it, trust me, it works. All in all, it really could just be the bio-enzymes in the product doing all the work, but I love the smell of orange so I'm sticking with it.
