Review on πŸŽ™οΈ Olympus DS-7000 Digital Voice Recorder Review: Exploring Features and Performance of the DS7000 Model by Reginald Hamilton

Tight but no banana

I'm a recorder fan because I spend several hours every working day speaking into a handheld recorder. I have quite a few inferior dictaphones that I have collected over 25 years. Those of you who dictate will appreciate that this Olympus has a rewind function built into the main record slide switch. This is an absolute must for me, but very few digital recorders have it. The price of this device is 20 times higher than the price of simple recorders, claiming to meet the needs of the demanding professional user. Initially I felt this device passed the test, although I didn't like the location of the headphone jack (which I use because I like to hear my voice through headphones when I'm dictating). However, when I uploaded my first dictation to my writing utensil, she immediately gave me a thumbs down and told me my voice sounded tinny. Remember, I did a thorough review, tried different recording and encoding modes, and settled on the combination with the best sound. For those of you who need a serious digital voice recorder and are comfortable with a transcriber, I recommend the Sony ICD-BM1 instead, with one caveat, for its superior sound. Sony has its flaws, but they aren't obstacles. It also costs a little less. If Olympus upgrades to a better mic and moves the headphone jack, then I'll switch.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
