This chalk is waxy, leaves a nice thick line (see first picture) and will withstand reasonable pressure without breaking. This chalk is also quite difficult to completely remove from the fabric. I tried brushing it off and it got considerably lighter, but the pressure of the brush would damage delicate fabrics and I tried steaming it off like candle wax, it didn't make much of a difference (photo 2). Finally, I washed the sample and the wax came off in the same way my marker did (Photo 3). I also tried on blue cotton (pic 4). It is not suitable for sewing thin garments, but can be used for those things where the wrong side of the fabric is not visible.
