Maybe this doesn't just work for gamers. For me it almost took away the low frequencies. Only the vocals and higher frequencies really came through. I have a good phono stage that works with my best players, but this unit pushed the bass to the point where my preamp couldn't compensate. For private use I have three players in different price ranges to show the differences in quality and design. I bought this to try and fix a cheap turntable I was going to give to a friend who wanted to try the hobby, but they traded one problem for another.
