Let me start by saying that I've just started working from home in the morning and going to the office in the afternoon. It used to be my routine to have coffee on the way to work. Since I no longer have to check in before lunch, I quickly realized that without my morning coffee I'm very unproductive and irritable. So I started looking for a solution. I wanted a mug that was easy to use, with a washable mug. AdirChef caught my eye with its colorful options and thought it would add some color to my boring kitchen counter. Because of the price I doubted the quality. But hey, this is Revane and if I was unhappy he would come back. So I ordered it. It arrived and the next day I made my morning cup of coffee. Everything was great. Good, fast, hot, tasty coffee. Deep down I thought this machine seemed solid enough, but this cup definitely flexes and makes soft popping noises. Fast forward to the next morning. I make myself a cup of coffee and while it brews I go to the bathroom. When I came back I took a cup and saw that there was coffee on the counter. I was confused as to how it got there but I used a paper towel and cleaned it up. Walked into my home office and started drinking. I guess I was still weak and my mind wasn't working. Never connected that something could be wrong. I always had to take a napkin and dry my shirt because there were coffee drips here and there. Apparently it was only in my mental fog that I thought I was a promiscuous drunk. Only when I put the cup on the table and after a few minutes noticed that a small puddle of coffee had formed around the cup. Eventually the light went out in my head and I realized there was a hole or something. I drained the rest of my coffee from my mug and peered inside. Of course there is a long crack inside the glass. I have no idea how this came about, other than that the mug is too cheaply made. I only hand washed it and only brewed 4 cups in it. (The manual states that on first use, before brewing any coffee, you should run water through the machine for two cycles to ensure any impurities from production are flushed out.) I decided to keep the coffee maker and not her to return as the coffee maker is good. I was surprised to learn that the replacement cups they sell are solid aluminum and therefore don't break like this plastic cup. I think they already figured out that plastic sucks. I think they should raise the price by a few bucks and include a better version from the start.
