Review on Ultimate Edge BS6 6 Piece Steak by Jerry King

The reason I gave this 3 stars is that it is difficult to insert the steak knife into the sheath because it is very, very tight. I nearly hurt myself trying to stick steak knives up each sleeve. It's just too tight. If the Chef Sac brand were this size steak knives I would buy from them because they are the right strength - not too tight and not loose. This brand was the only one to offer 6 steak knife sheaths. Update: 4/2/2021 I really wanted to like these steak knife guards but they are a safety issue. I don't know if this is the batch I received but the sheath is so tight even after I took the knife out. I almost stabbed myself a few times and had to use something to get up my sleeve before I could get my knife in there. I take blood thinners so it's extremely important that I don't accidentally cut or prick myself. moron. Since searching for Revain didn't turn up any other vendors with steak knife guards, I did a Google search for steak knife guards or sheaths and found other manufacturers. In the end I chose Messermeister. They sell for $25 with Prime here at Revain, which is $10 more than this manufacturer. The price on the website is $15, shipping is $10. Honestly, this package could fit in a regular envelope and wouldn't cost more than $1.50. I finally got it on eBay from Messermeister as a seller. It was $15 plus $5 shipping which was still overpriced for shipping but more reasonable. The Ultimate Edge Guard is really long for a steak knife. The steak knives I have are the normal length for steak knives, so I think there are people who use really big and long knives. The Messermeister Guards are perfect for my Misen steak knives. And what I like is that there are notches at the top of the knife sheaths so it helps if you push the blade of the knife into the sheath to allow it to enter the sheath. Ultimate Edge's sleeves don't have them, so there's a higher chance of accidentally stabbing yourself with a knife. But there are many good reviews of these sleeves, so maybe it's just me. However, my favorite knife sheaths by far are from Chef Sac. They really are perfect and they were the first guards I got for my big knives. Too bad they don't have a set of 6 steak knives.
