Review on Ibera Triangle Frame Bag: Organize and Carry Essentials on Your Bicycle! by Awiwi Swift

Weight and wind resistance

I race up and down the Pacific coast on a road bike. I recently bought a raincoat to keep me dry in the early morning fog and haze. Unfortunately it is too big for the pockets of my sweaters when folded. So I bought a big triangular bag to put my raincoat in when I don't need it anymore. When I first started shopping for a bag that could hold a light-to-midweight jacket, the only bags big enough to get the job done were handlebar mounts. I ride in an area with fairly strong headwinds - 7 to 15 mph. If you often ride in the wind and need storage space, remember that weight is much less important than wind resistance. I estimate a handlebar bag will slow my speed by 1-2 mph - deadly. The oversized triangular pocket was the only design that (1) is large enough to hold a medium-weight raincoat and (2) has minimal aerodynamic impact on performance. My jacket is tight on the inside and I'm just sacrificing speed.
