Temperature is accurate and heats evenly as far as I can tell.
I love that the temperature control is OUTSIDE of the tank attached to the power cord. I checked the temperature with an optional digital thermometer, and the temperature is accurate to within 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit. I use this heater with a 10 gallon African Dwarf Frog tank.
