Works just like my short 13" antenna without losing FM stations near me. When I upgraded from the standard 28" antenna to a 13" antenna the only loss of signal was when I was in a wooded area/trees blocking the signal and in the countryside/far over there. All you had to do was find another station that was closer. never mind. I live in Greenwood/Franklin, Indiana, if that matters. It bends easily in the car wash, it may not seem so when you first get it. I said the same as some other reviews. He's too hard. Not what I thought. Furnished. went into the car wash, it flexes better than i thought it would and after 4 washes it still looks new. My 13" antenna eventually bent backwards and started to rust at the base after only 2 years. Installation is easy. There are no instructions in the kit and they are not needed. You simply remove the old/standard antenna with a wrench. Adjust the old/standard antenna threads using the appropriate size thread adapter provided. Push it in snugly and firmly - being careful not to clip the threads of the base of the antenna damage it - don't unscrew it - just tighten it - done. Apply dielectric grease to the threads to prevent rusting or sticking, but this may not be necessary as I've always done. after hearing others say their stump was rusting together and had to replace the entire antenna base, yes!
