Decent Transformer with Compromises

This is a decent hybrid that's good for basic browser/tablet tasks. If you try to do a lot more with it, you might get frustrated. I agree with the price of $350 on Black Friday but would be disappointed if I spent $500 on it so I'm giving 3 stars instead of 4. Paying $600 for an m3 processor would be overkill, especially for this class of device with only 4GB of RAM. This is normal when browsing, but Android apps may experience glitches. Touch response may be uneven in tablet mode. This may be a ChromeOS bug, but it is an advertised feature that is expected to work. Using an external 2k monitor via USB-C works, but intermittently. I suspect it's a combination of low RAM and integrated graphics (CPU usage wasn't high). I wouldn't do it regularly. I love that it has 2 USB-C ports, but it's annoying to put them on one side. Half the screen is a lot heavier than other laptops I've used and I find it difficult to balance on my lap. The body camera is useless unless you plan on taking photos in tablet mode (don't be that person). The keyboard is ok, but the touchpad is a bit cramped. It just comes with territory on a device of this size. Basically, it does a lot of things appropriately and nothing more. If it suits you, you might like it. For this price you could get a much better tablet or laptop, but this gives you a bit of both. Pros: - USB-C - screen - stylus - size - build quality Cons: - speed/responsiveness - weight) - thickness - price

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Functionality
