That works great! in Fish & Aquatic Pets

I used to have a pair of E400's. They held up a few years ago and I usually just threw them away when they stopped working. I am lazy but I usually have 7+ large tanks running and the emperors will only be in the tanks where I have quarantined every new fish that comes in (I usually quarantine new fish for at least 2 weeks, before I move them one of the main tanks). Anyway, the quarantine tank 110 got a little greener (unusual as the water change is done weekly) and both E400s turned out to be working outside, but on closer inspection the biowheels were spinning through the water flowing out of the filters. on the ground, but none of the jets pushed out water to spin the biowheels. Strange and not sure how this affects filter efficiency, but it probably wasn't good. In any case, after disassembling and reassembling both filters, both filters worked for a few hours, and then they made clicks, crackles, noises, and the atomizers stopped. I checked the impellers twice for both filters and they only look worn at the plastic fins but some wear at the rubber pin locations where they rotate the filters. So I ordered a new one. Changed quickly and bueno. No more noise from the impeller and the sprayers push out a lot of water. To be honest the old impeller looked fine from the rib side but maybe the rubber stops or even the magnet itself were out of balance which could have caused the impeller to hit the walls of the impeller shell. Regardless, the hospital tank is back in business. By the way, I haven't seen the E400 for sale at Revain. I think they don't sell them anymore so get a spare impeller quick if you plan on continuing to use the E400.
