Works as described, if your 400 is too loud order this or if it doesn't pump enough water it's the perfect solution, it works better than the original.

When your Marineland Emperor filter starts making noise you will need to replace this part. I've tried cleaning and restoring the original but to no avail. The change took literally 2 minutes. Now my filter is as quiet as when I bought it.

Excellent replacement impeller. My filter has been making a loud grinding noise for years. The filter does not restart after a power failure. After checking the impeller, I noticed that one bushing was missing and the other was broken. After replacing the impeller, the filter runs smoothly.

This is a great replacement part - the old part had a hard plastic fin which over time became brittle and broke. This nylon part will last longer and will not become brittle or break. the fit was perfect, runs smooth, quiet. bought an extra one after seeing it awaiting replacement of my other filter and knowing it would fail as well.

This new impeller assembly is perfect for my Marineland Emperor 400 dual bio-wheel filter system. This calmed the entire system and caused the bio-filter wheel flow tubes to flow evenly and with more water pressure, allowing the bio-filter wheels to spin freely and so as quickly as your customization allows, if required.

I wasn't sure if it would fit exactly like the original as there was a slight rework. Worked absolutely perfectly. Silent filter with high cleaning power. I use two Emperor 400s for my 120 gallon aquarium with two 9" Oscars, a 12" Pleco and a 5" Spotted Catfish. Works great in this demanding setup!

My Emperor 400 has been driving me crazy for weeks. The sprinklers were not properly watered and it was unusually noisy. Although the impeller didn't look broken, I decided to replace it anyway (especially after reading that it was a redesigned version). Since installing it, my filter is quieter than ever and the Biowheel sprinklers are spinning normally again. I highly recommend this replacement.

I used to have a pair of E400's. They held up a few years ago and I usually just threw them away when they stopped working. I am lazy but I usually have 7+ large tanks running and the emperors will only be in the tanks where I have quarantined every new fish that comes in (I usually quarantine new fish for at least 2 weeks, before I move them one of the main tanks).
