We used them in every door during Hurricane Florence when we had days with wind and rain (about 30 inches of rain total). If water didn't come in through the main doors of our home, sucking up water at the garage doors and keeping our garage dry, but most importantly keeping water out of our kayak room and preventing water from reaching the dehumidifier in that room. These socks got soaked, but the rooms stayed dry! I tried drying them but they were very wet and it took me many days to dry them in the sun. You've lost about half the absorbency of the padding. I will be ordering more to have on hand and using these old ones as a backup if needed. It was great to have them and know they really work!
