Even though I haven't tried writing or reading to or from the disk yet, I've observed that the red light has been flashing periodically from the first day I got the disk. This is how the protective system is supposed to work while the disk is shaking, according to the manufacturer's website, but in reality, the disk is sitting on a TV cabinet that nobody touches. The CD is obviously defective, so please send it back.
