I was looking for a surge protector with at least 8 outlets, maybe 12 would be too many. With this arrangement of sockets, each wide power block takes up all the available space between the sockets, so nothing can be connected next to the block. Some higher quality splitters/surge protectors position multiple outlets at 90 degrees to adjacent outlets to accommodate these larger power supplies. Maybe you can see from my photo how many exits are closed. This effectively reduces this device from a 12 output device to an 8 output device. Joule protection is another feature that convinced me to buy it. Advertised with protection of up to 4360 joules, this helps keep peace of mind when you have a lot of electrical equipment on the line. Of course, I hope I never see a test of this protection, but if so, I'll report those results as well.
