I have a 9 pan Excalibur dehydrator that I really like but it only comes with 3 fruit skin silicone mats. I used parchment paper, but peeling the skin off is very painful. I tried them because they were very cheap and available in large quantities, but they are not as good as the Excalibur silicone mats. Now silicone mats are three times more expensive. I think it's Teflon. Pros: 1. They fit well and can be resized 2. They are much better than parchment paper3. The price is fantastic Cons: 1. They make my fruity complexion weird. As if it had little pocket holes in it. It's just different but hard to explain.2. They are thin and therefore wrinkle if not straightened in the wash. I wash right on the dehydrator tray, flip my other side and dry the same way. Manipulation without a flat surface in the sink causes severe creases and wrinkles.3. The fruit peel doesn't come off as easily as the brand's expensive silicone mats. I think the cookies would turn out fantastic in the oven although I haven't tried them yet. Overall this is a good buy and a transition from parchment to paper. They're inexpensive and I'll keep them, but if money weren't an issue I'd go with the silicone ones. They're just thicker and work better.
