Thought I'd save some money and give this third party a try, 2 for the price of one damn it! Unfortunately, there seems to be a reason it's cheaper than branded filters. I ran it continuously for two weeks in a room that I keep closed to keep dust out. And while it seems to handle dust well, the activated charcoal part, designed to help eliminate odors, isn't as good as branded filters. First, after comparing the branded filter to this one, I noticed that the branded filter seemed a bit heavier, now I'm wondering if that's due to possibly having more activated charcoal to trap odors. Second, the brand name filter, if you look at it inside out you can't see the light, but you can see it on this filter. Not sure if I should return it as I've been using it for two weeks now and it seems to collect dust just as well. I only wish it would also do a similar job of removing odors as a famous brand.
