We recently had a new Karastan Impressive Form carpet in our house. It's not a shaggy rug, but it has longer fibers than a Berber or similar. It's nice and comfortable to walk barefoot. Unfortunately, the carpet shop employee, who seemed to know a lot about carpets, never mentioned that most vacuums are IMPOSSIBLE on this carpet without breaking your back. Even the Karastan website didn't help aside from saying the Dysons wouldn't work (something we figured out quickly since we had that). They recommended the Kenmore model we bought and it really didn't work very well without sacrificing a great deal of performance. Luckily, when the carpet fixers got to our house, I noticed that they had this commercial sanitaire up and I let them walk over the new carpet for a few minutes. Since we bought this durable vacuum cleaner, our life has become happy again. We set it to one of the higher settings and it works like a dream. It can't be used on wooden floors so we can still use the new Kenmore we just bought for it.
