Overall solid technology. It holds very tight and hasn't moved even with temperature changes. I also think the material is a plus and should last a long time. However, this car mount suffers from the same problem as any other I've tried. Over time, the weight of your phone will slowly "drop" while driving. The ball joint is not strong enough to hold the phone in one place. Initially yes, but after a few uses it inevitably loses the stiffness it once had. I put mine on my car's windshield (where the oil change reminder is usually) and found a way to keep the phone from moving by positioning it so the top rested on the window mount so it didn't move can really move. Overall this is a good product to be honest. However, keep in mind that almost every modern smartphone with a case does not stay in place for long and you will have to adjust while driving. It's okay, I won't be returning it or anything, but something to keep in mind if you're looking for toughness. It's possible that your mileage will vary depending on where you place it on your dashboard.
