Review on Polk Audio BITB Boom Black by Charles Lardieri

This little speaker is so small, light and so comfortable that it really overcomes its shortcomings and will become my new personal bike speaker. It's loud enough that you can listen to music or whatever and still hear your surroundings without disturbing everyone around you. I even wear it at home when I'm listening to a podcast or the news. It also works for running, but I'm less comfortable listening to music in front of people. The BOOM BIT has an awesome rubberized clip that doesn't look fancy but works really well for holding this thing to a shirt collar, belt or backpack. Belt. There are only two buttons, but they control a range of functions - volume, skip, rewind, answer a call, etc. The controls aren't immediately intuitive, but you learn how to use them quickly and can mostly be performed in one go . hand over. The real downside is the battery life. I can get by for two to three hours on a single charge, which seems good, but what it really means is that you have to charge it frequently and you won't be able to use it all day otherwise. It also seems to take a while to charge. I'm torn between using a large USB connector versus a small micro USB connector. It feels more convenient than it actually is - it takes up a lot of USB space and often I'd rather just use the smaller cable that already sits on my desk. Also, the speaker seems to have increased significantly in size - almost a quarter of the size is due to the rubber cover on the bottom, and I'd put it more down to the larger battery and speaker. The sound is pretty good - it sounds really good when it's close to the ear, but definitely not for a party. Sounds loud when you turn it on indoors, but I find I have to turn it all the way out when driving in windy or noisy areas. I wish it was a little louder. It would be even better if you could get two and clip them together. Got this because my Outdoor Tech Buckshot 2 died and this speaker is louder but uses old Bluetooth technology and I have a feeling they will have a new version soon. It's a quarter the size, has just as good a hook, is lighter, has much better Bluetooth connectivity and is much more responsive to touch controls. Also, I got a black one for $12. I don't even know if I want to go back to a bigger speaker. It was so good I bought another one for my kid.
