Got this when we were leaving for 9 days. It's too long not to feed our fish. I used fish flakes while we were away. He was working well so he just kept feeding the fish after we got back. I didn't expect to keep using it. Now we have guppies and I feed them 4 times with this feeder. We use NorthFin Fry Starter, which isn't as powdery as First Bites fry food. So it seems to be working fine. It was difficult at first to open the right size door for fried food. We tested it on paper many times to see what it would bring. Love the manual feed button for that! Advantages - easy to use, easy to set up, up to 4 times a day with one or more drum revolutions. It has a large storage capacity for food. works for consistent feeding - preferably at home or on the go. rechargeable - eliminates the need for batteries! Seems to hold a charge well. I haven't had to reload it yet. The manual option is great for testing and is very quiet! Good clip attachment - (not like the cheap ones we got from Walmart! ugh) Cons - hmmm it's bigger - longer than expected so something to deal with - didn't think it was a big deal despite having bought before Got a cheap feeder from Walmart - I wouldn't recommend it - we paid about $18 for it. I paid about 27 for these. Now I see that the price has gone down. make it more affordable - it would be more painful to pay for 27! I would buy again. Especially if the price is around 20. (I'm thinking of getting another one soon!) We breed guppies.
