This is a good product for the money.
We connect it to the audio system in our house, so the sound quality is very good. We didn't use the remote for this, but the volume will be as loud as your speakers will allow. We have a surround speaker setup. It works great with our system, we have a remote control for our sound system. And we have no problem connecting with it.
