Works fine, then dies.

I have used this tool 3 times using the gauge nut that came installed when the M8 shipped. Worked fine then I tried taking out M8 and replacing it with M3. It will not work. I had to use the key provided. It was loose but very tight. As soon as I took it out, I noticed that the thread for the steel stop screw was threaded into the aluminum body of the tool. Now this is a piece of crap as I can't restart the threads without re-cross threading. I spent a lot of money on this thing and got extra studs now I'm stuck. I hope the seller will replace this for me. It hasn't been abused or overused, it has been by the manufacturer. Can someone help me here?
