Update: the power went out for several months
firstly the lid does not fit on the tank so it constantly hits the water because it has a slightly different shape than the tank. I thought maybe the plastic would sag a little if water got in, but no, it doesn't get any better. Second, within four months, the power to the light and pump went out. If I could give this system less than one star I would.
