Hit or miss bottle opener

I really want this item to be my favorite as it looks so great in my minimalist kitchen. But it's hit or miss for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried all sorts of movements (press hard, light, fast, slow, etc.) but couldn't find a chart of when it works. Sometimes it takes me 5 tries before I can remove the cap from the bottle. I went back to the regular bottle opener.
