I received this printer and I like it very much. It was a pretty quick and easy install and the printing was great. Instant Ink was something new, so I signed up for it and got plenty of free time to try it. Perfect! Until about a week later when he became a brick. Touchscreen blue window of death with a pixelated image of the power button - didn't work. The power button blinks - does not work. All other lights blink - which didn't work. Unplugged, plugged back in - worked for a while, then again. I did this several times and ended up calling service. And their customer service seems to be bad in a BRAND NEW CATEGORY. Spoke to someone - we can only replace it because you signed up for Instant Ink. What? So he transfers me to the Instant Ink people but the call gets disconnected. Call back to get a valid number. Talk to someone - they'll transfer me to Instant Ink. What's your case number? Um... he never gave me one. Lots of questions, many of which have already been answered by the same person. The only way we can help you is to send you a new power cord first. OK. Preparing for the end of the call - I had to ask for the case number. A new power cord arrives, it doesn't work what I knew. Call HP. By phone for TWO. CELEBRATION. CLOCK. If you want to redo everything that's already been done in previous calls, wait on the phone until the system stops working (which can take 10-45 minutes), and finally say yes, we may need to send you a new one. . However, that two-hour phone call was on September 29 and nothing. As I was writing this, I received an email. The printer was shipped today and should be delivered on 10/4/2017. Hmm. Oh oh oh oh oh. Overall despite the fact that the printer worked *great* for the first week (and Instant Ink seems to be up to date - got the first batch after the printer broke). I would be careful. The printer and touchscreen shouldn't be bricked like that, and it's possible others are the same way. Knowing what hurdles I had to take on the phone to get a case number? I am not sure I will ever order an HP product again.
