Ecoangel Collapsible Metal Straws are exactly what I was looking for and at a good price. I've tried silicone straws and like them, but they're hard to get through the lid of a mug or large ice cubes. These metal straws are easy to use, pierce a standard removable lid without pulling and are much easier to work through large amounts of ice. Portability is great. They fold neatly like an accordion and fit into their own small carrying tube, which can be attached to a backpack or purse with a carabiner. I also like that the carrying tube is locked with screws so it's secure and you don't have to worry about the case opening and the straw getting lost. The total length of the folded straw and case, including the ring and carabiner, is 7 inches, and the length of the whole is only half an inch wide. A fully extended straw is just over 9 inches long. The silicone tip is a nice addition, colour-coordinated with each of the cases so there is no confusion as to whether the straw is washed or left on, and no confusion as to which goes with which. Each straw comes with an expandable cleaning brush that fits inside the straw in the carrying case, so you can clean your straw after every use, no matter where you are. The color scheme is quite subtle (only sleeves and silicone tips, the straw itself is silver metal) so everyone can find their own.
